Dr Nathan Stewart completed his medical training at the University of Western Australia (UWA) in 2001, obtaining his degrees in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. While working as a junior doctor, he undertook further education, obtaining a Post Graduate Diploma in Surgical Anatomy at UWA in 2006. In 2007, he moved to Sydney to complete the Masters of Surgery Program at the University of Sydney, studying the role of white blood cells in wound healing with the research teams at Westmead Hospital.
Upon returning to Perth in 2009, Nathan began his specialist training in Plastic Surgery, training at Royal Perth Hospital, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital. He was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 2015.
Nathan then undertook post-fellowship training at St Andrews Centre for Plastic Surgery and Burns in the United Kingdom for a further year, returning to Perth in 2016.
Nathan is actively involved in the training and education of new plastic surgeons, and is a Consultant Specialist Plastic Surgeon at Royal Perth Hospital and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.
