David studied a Bachelor of Science in occupational therapy and then completed medical school at the University of Western Australia in 2006. After completing internship at Royal Perth Hospital, David worked as a surgical doctor at several large tertiary hospitals throughout WA, developing foundation surgical skills in multiple different specialties.

Following 5 years of comprehensive specialist training in all aspects of adult and paediatric plastic surgery and passing his fellowship examination, David was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 2016.

After qualifying as a Specialist Plastic Surgeon, David undertook further post-fellowship training in 2017 in England where he completed a six month plastic surgery fellowship in reconstructive surgery at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford University, and a six month plastic surgery fellowship in head and neck surgery at Churchill Hospital, Oxford University.

Upon his return to Australia in early 2019, he completed a six month fellowship at the Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery in advanced cosmetic and aesthetic surgery, before returning to Perth to commence private practice.

David joined the 1300HANDOC team in 2021 and is also a consultant Specialist Plastic Surgeon at Royal Perth Hospital.
